Lesbian comedian/actress/talk-show host Wanda Sykes has suffered a broken foot, according to TheInsider.com. One of Sykes' representatives said that Sykes sustained the injury Jan. 7 during production; however, the weekly talk show still ran, as scheduled.

Australian singer Dannii Minogue—the sister of gay fave Kylie Minogue—is pregnant with her first child, according to ContactMusic.com. Dannii, who is a judge on Simon Cowell's British talent show The X Factor, is reportedly expecting a baby this summer with rugby player boyfriend Kris Smith. Dannii, 38, recently was the focus of controversy because of comments she said on the show to a contestant who the media speculated was bisexual; however, the judge did publicly apologize, according to Wikipedia.

Michael C. Hall, 38—best known for his lead role as a serial killer on the TV series Dexter and for his portrayal of gay funeral director David Fisher on the show Six Feet Under—has been diagnosed with cancer, according to US Magazine. In a statement, Hall said that he is being treated successfully for Hodgkin's lymphoma. He added that was lucky to have a "treatable and curable condition."

In the latest twist on the Casey Johnson situation, fiance Tila Tequila said she plans to seek custody of Johnson's 3-year-old daughter, Ava, US Magazine reported. Johnson's mother, Sale, currently has custody of Ava; however, Tequila has claimed that Johnson did not want that particular arrangement. Johnson was found dead Jan. 4 at age 30.

A foundation started by celebrity couple Angelina Jolie and Brad Pitt is contributing $1 million to the emergency operation responding to the earthquake in Haiti, People.com reported. The Jolie-Pitt Foundation is donating the money to Doctors Without Borders, whose three hospitals in the city of Port-au-Prince were severely damaged. The quake—which had a magnitude of 7.0—hit Haiti Jan. 12; as many as 100,000 people are feared dead, according to the New York Times.

The Gay & Lesbian Alliance Against Defamation ( GLAAD ) has announced the nominees for its 21st Annual GLAAD Media Awards, according to a press release. Among the various nominees are the movies A Single Man and Precious: Based on the Novel 'Push' by Sapphire; TV shows One Life to Live and Glee; and singers Adam Lambert and Lady Gaga. The GLAAD Media Awards ceremonies will be held in New York on March 13 at the Marriott Marquis ( where Cynthia Nixon will receive the Vito Russo Award ) ; in Los Angeles on April 17 at the Hyatt Regency Century Plaza; and in San Francisco on June 5 at The Westin St. Francis. Matthew Morrison, who portrays teacher Will Schuester on the hit TV show Glee, has signed a deal with Mercury Records, People.com reported. Morrison, 31, has been in the Broadway musicals Hairspray and The Light in the Piazza as well as a revival of South Pacific. He will soon start production on his first album, which is slated to be released this fall.

Speaking of Glee, co-star and lesbian actress Jane Lynch has called President Barack Obama "a huge disappointment" for not taking a stand regarding Prop 8, according to an Ecorazzi.com item. Lynch told the UK Guardian, "Shouldn't there be safeguards against the majority voting on the rights of a minority? If people voted on civil rights in the '60s, it would have never happened. It took somebody like ( U.S. President ) Lyndon Johnson going, 'F all of you! I'm going to do this.' Obama won't do it."

Actress Rue McClanahan—known for her roles on the TV shows Golden Girls, Sordid Lives and Maude—is recovering from a stroke that happened after her heart-bypass operation last November, Advocate.com reported. McClanahan, 75, spent two week's in a hospital's intensive-care unit and is currently in a nursing home for rehabilitation. Her husband, Matthew Wilson, said that her movement and voice have been affected.

Rosie O'Donnell has weighed in on the Tonight Show brouhaha, according to the New York Daily News. After an HBO Television Critics Association panel, O'Donnell told reporters, "Shame on Jay Leno. ... I have been a big fan of Conan O'Brien. ... If you're privileged enough to be asked to drive the bus, you should say thank you and drive it to the best of your ability and when it's time for them to hire a new driver, you should say, 'Thank you for allowing me to drive this for as long as I did,' and pass the keys to the new guy."

Talking with the Advocate, actor Michael Urie—who plays Marc St. James on the TV show Ugly Betty—said he identifies as "queer." He said, in part, "I've never been in. I've never said I was straight, and I'm not saying I'm gay now. ... I've certainly chosen through my work to do things that promote the rights of LGBTQ people." He added, ""I've been in a relationship for a while now, and if you just met the two of us together we'd be 'gay.' But that somehow means anything that happened before [ we met ] didn't count—and I don't feel that way."

Gay celebrities Ellen DeGeneres and Tim Gunn were recently named People for the Ethical Treatment of Animals' ( PETA's ) 2009 Woman of the Year and Man of the Year, according to a press release. DeGeneres, who went vegan in 2008, said on her official Web site that she "personally chose to go vegan because I educated myself on factory farming and cruelty to animals, and I suddenly realized that what was on my plate were living things, with feelings." Previous PETA Person of the Year awards went to Oprah Winfrey in 2008 and Sen. Robert Byrd, D-W.Va., in 2007.
