The Gay & Lesbian Alliance Against Defamation ( GLAAD ) hosted a Happy Hour cocktail reception on July 23 at the Museum of Contemporary Art, 220 E. Chicago. The media watch organization is holding informational cocktail parties in major cities to educate and update guests on past and current work. GLAAD, which formed 22 years ago in New York City, is an organization that seeks fair representation of queer issues, news stories and television programming in the media. The event held in the back patio of the museum was the perfect Monday night summer setting. Guests viewed the current exhibit Escultura Social: A New Generation of Art from Mexico City, featuring work from an array of artists producing work in Mexico City. For more, see www.glaad.org .
