The GLAAD Media Awards, which recognizes and honors mainstream media for their representations of the LGBT community and issues that affect the demographic, will be held at Hollywood's Kodak Theatre on April 14, according to an organizational press release.
Winners in various categories will be announced onstage. Among the categories as Outstanding Comedy Series ( which features Desperate Housewives, So NoTORIous, Ugly Betty and The Office as its nominees ) and Outstanding Film—Wide Release ( which includes Little Miss Sunshine and V for Vendetta ) .
At the event, Lance Bass will present the Stephen F. Kolzak Award to Martina Navratilova. Guests will include Neil Patrick Harris and former NBA player John Amaechi.
The Hollywood event will follow GLAAD's New York Awards, scheduled for March 26 at the Marriott Marquis. At the latter gala, Patti LaBelle will receive the Excellence in Media Award while fashion designer Tom Ford will be honored with the Vito Russo Award.
